Gravity Ghost Coming to PS4 With New Content

Hi all! Erin Robinson Swink of Ivy Games, here. I just wanted to drop in and announce that our game Gravity Ghost is coming to PS4!

We couldn’t be more excited about the game’s reception, and we can’t wait to share it with you guys. So excited, in fact, that we’ve added some timed PS4 exclusive content:

  • New constellation with brand new challenge levels
  • 3 additional bonus tracks from the OST by Ben Prunty (composer of FTL)
  • New unlockable player character

The game follows Iona, a little ghost girl flying through the cosmos in search of her friend the ghost fox. As she travels through space she meets many unusual characters: giant fantastical creatures known as “Guardians,” a few stranded survivors of a black hole, and the restless spirits of many animals.

By reuniting the spirits of dead animals with their bodies, she sees flashes of her life and begins to understand and come to terms with her death. It’s an unusual story for a game, and one I’ve wanted to tell for a long time.

Gravity GhostGravity Ghost

The narrative is brought to life by voice actors Logan Cunningham (aka “The narrator from Bastion”), Ashly Burch (“Hey Ash Whatcha Playin?”), and Sarah Elmaleh (“Gone Home”). I was a huge fan of their work before this game and they did a truly marvelous job with the strange universe of Gravity Ghost.

This announcement is a huge deal for me and the team here at Ivy Games. I’ve been making games since 2005, but this is the first time I’ve ever made it to a console! Just opening the game and playing it on PS4 is a delight for me and I hope it will be for you as well.

Have a great day!

Metro Redux: Free Trials Available Today on PS4

If you never got around to playing the Metro series, we have some very good news for you! 4A Games has created two huge, free demos — one for Metro 2033 Redux and one for Metro: Last Light Redux — that are available today on PS4.

Metro Redux

The Metro games are gripping, story-driven first-person shooters based on the works of Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, which combine exploration, survival horror, and stealth gameplay. Set in the shattered ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, you play as Artyom — a young Ranger who holds the fate of mankind in his hands.

The original Metro 2033 was first released in 2010, with its sequel Metro: Last Light following in 2013. Last year, both games were completely remastered for PS4 and now boast stunning 1080p visuals at 60 frames per second.

The Metro games are atmospheric, slow burners, so a short demo doesn’t really do them justice. But we cast our minds back to the shareware days of the 1990s and remembered that when Doom was first released you got the entire first third for free, and only paid if you wanted to play more.

Metro ReduxMetro Redux

We applied this idea to Metro — each Trial contains nine whole chapters, representing several hours of gameplay. If you reach the end of the Trial and want to continue, you can unlock the full version and play on without interruption — you keep your game save / progress!

Each standalone game is currently available for $24.99 — so if you haven’t yet experienced the world of post-apocalyptic Moscow, now is the perfect chance to try it.

Rocket League Out July 7th, Sweet Tooth Joins Roster

$

The team here at Psyonix has been overwhelmed by the positive worldwide reaction to our upcoming action-sports game Rocket League. Which is why we want to give you all not one, but FOUR major pieces of information in a single announcement!

The first two are right there in the headline: Rocket League will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store July 7th, while Twisted Metal’s famous ice cream truck, Sweet Tooth, joins our roster of playable cars as a special unlockable vehicle exclusively on PS4! Watch our brand new trailer below for proof!

What the headline doesn’t tell you is that Rocket League will also be one of the few games in history that supports PS4/ PC cross-play — meaning that owners of both the console version and the PC version will be able to team up or go head-to-head in the same matches when the game launches early next month!

And finally, we’re very proud to announce that Rocket League will be making an appearance at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and will be playable in near-finished form. Season Mode, splitscreen multiplayer, car customization, and Sweet Tooth himself will all be available to check out and enjoy all three days of the show. We can’t wait to see you drop by to enjoy it!

Rocket League, Sweet ToothRocket League, Sweet Tooth

I know I say it in every post, but on behalf of the entire team at Psyonix, that you VERY MUCH for the continued sentiment, support, and suggestions during the development of this game. Without you, our sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars never would have happened, and for that, we are forever grateful.

See you at E3 and see you once again on July 7th!

Mighty No. 9: Retail Details, Cross-Buy, Pre-order for Retro Hero Mode

Hello again PlayStation fans!

We’re back again with a few more Mighty No. 9 details that we know that gamers will be excited to hear. For those of you who are perhaps new to whole Mighty No. 9 discussion, come in, sit down, make yourself comfortable and allow our sparkly new Mighty No. 9 “Beat Them at Their Own Game” gameplay trailer get you up to speed — in glorious 60fps, no less!

Mighty No. 9 | PlayStation.com

So, on to the news! We saw that, let’s just say, more than a few of you have asked about this, so it gives us great pleasure to announce that Mighty No. 9 will support Cross-Buy across PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. What’s cooler than that? Well, how about the fact that Cross-Buy will be available on both the digital versions and the PS4 retail version.

We also have a few more details on the PS4 retail version – in this edition you’ll not only receive the “Ray” DLC which grants you access to the Abandoned Lab stage, a boss battle against new bad-guy Ray, and the ability to then play through the entire game as Ray herself, but we’re also packing in a double-sided poster as well as “The Art of Mighty No. 9”: an art booklet which showcases the sublime artworks and concept arts from our friends at comcept and Inti Creates.

Mighty No. 9

Finally we also wanted to drop some information on a special goody for those that choose to pre-order the title: we’ll be giving you the “Retro Hero Mode”: where Beck will don a retro-inspired suit, complete with 8-bit style pew-pew sound effects and direct access to a rock hard insta-death mode, where any single hit will result in Beck’s destruction. Not for the faint of heart!

Mighty No. 9

While the Retro Hero Mode with the Retro Beck character model & the access to the insane difficulty mode will be the pre-order bonus, the insta-death mode is not exclusive to only those who pre-order: the core game will also contain a slightly different one-hit death mode – one which you’ll be able to unlock by completing a specific, but more on that later!

Mighty No. 9 Signature Edition

Last announcement of the day is an extremely limited Collector’s Edition only for North America. The Mighty No. 9: Signature Edition will include the Launch Edition of the PS4 game as well as an individually numbered 6.5” figurine of Beck complete with 14 points of articulation and three interchangeable faceplates. Packaging on this version will prominently feature a metallic foil signature from legendary creator Keiji Inafune across the front. Oh, and all of that for only $59.99!

That’s all for now — stay tuned for more updates on Mighty No. 9!

Hey everyone. After months of intense Beta testing, I’m excited to announce that PlanetSide 2 will be launching on PS4 June 23rd in North America!

Planetside 2

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, you’re in for a wild ride! PlanetSide 2 is a revolutionary, massive scale, first-person shooter where soldiers battle as one in strategic, targeted missions against enemy Empires in an all-out planetary war. Massive communities with unwavering camaraderie band together in PlanetSide 2 as the game challenges the skill and grit of the most seasoned soldier through intense infantry, air, and ground vehicle gameplay. Victory requires teamwork and a quick trigger finger to survive the enormous battles.

To give you an idea of just how massive our battles really are in PlanetSide 2, we recently set a Guinness World Record for the Most Players Online in a Single FPS Battle, with 1,158 players in a single fight! The game is synonymous with large-scale warfare and it’s truly an experience you have to see to believe. Plus, as a free-to-play game, all players can jump into the game’s massive battles for free — no PlayStation Plus Membership required.

Planetside 2Planetside 2

We’ve put a lot of effort into streamlining and improving the feature set so that PS4 players will have the ultimate massive-scale, FPS gaming experience. We’ve also incorporated some unique features that are currently exclusive to the PS4 version, which for example, include the new battle map, Koltyr. We will continue to further improve and enhance the gameplay experience after launch as well. In the weeks and months following the release on June 23rd, players can look forward to frequent game updates, which will include deeper features, holiday events and content, new in-game marketplace items, and much, much more.

On behalf of the PlanetSide 2 development team, we’d like to thank the tens of thousands of players that have taken part in the Closed Beta testing. Because of you, we’ve been able to make a ton of refinements to the game that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible without your valuable feedback.

Planetside 2

We’re excited to finally bring the game to PS4 so the console gaming community can experience what truly massive warfare is all about!

We’ll see you on Auraxis!

You’ve asked for it and we listened. Today we finally get to announce that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception are being released for the PS4 in the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, available October 9, 2015!

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4

Since the launch of the PS4, we’ve seen plenty of requests across our Twitter, Facebook, and message boards all over the internet to provide remastered releases for the first three games in the Uncharted series, which sold an amazing 21+ million copies and garnered an average 92 Metacritic rating. We couldn’t agree more. What better way to prepare for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End than to revisit – or play for the first time – the first three games that launched the fortune hunting icon that is Nathan Drake?

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4

Early last month, Eric and I took a trip to Austin on the down low to visit the incredible team at Bluepoint Games to check out Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in person and get ready for this announcement. What we’ve seen of the game so far looks fantastic!

The team at Bluepoint Games is incomparable regarding their portfolio of ports and remastered releases, and we’ve been working closely with them to bring over our engine to make Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection an exemplary game. That means not only delivering the single-player campaigns of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but also adding a range of improvements and additions across all three games including Photo Mode and new trophies. We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates.

By pre-ordering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection today, you can receive the Nathan Drake Pack which includes single player skins of iconic Drake outfits as well as everyone’s favorite weapons: the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS guns. If you pre-order the digital download via the PlayStation Store, you will also get an Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection PS4 dynamic theme as an immediate download.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PS4

Pre-order Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

Oh, and one other important note, buying the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection grants you exclusive access to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer Beta version (while the Beta is available, of course.)

With the release a scant four months away, we’re looking forward to getting you ready for Drake’s next adventure with the remastered versions of these first three Uncharted titles. With luck we’ll be able to put together some opportunities for our fans to see and play parts of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection prior to its release. We’ll keep you posted here in the upcoming months.

Monstrous Puzzle Game GNOG Launching on PS4 and Morpheus in 2016

$

0

We’re proud to announce that GNOG is launching on PS4 and Project Morpheus next year.

GNOG is a (we like to think) special kind of puzzle-adventure game with a focus on discovery and wonder in a universe made up of monster heads. Each monster has its own personality, and a micro-world on its opposite side — you flip back and forth between these two sides, interacting with both and watching how they react.

The heads are totally unique, with different puzzles and soundscapes in each, to really emphasise that aspect of playful discovery. We’ve taken a lot of inspiration from games like Windosill and FEZ — which are great little sandboxes of exploration and wonder — as well as toys like Polly Pocket & Mighty Max, which encourage you to look at everyday objects a little differently (like when you see faces in a cloud, a park bench, a street sign…).

It’s something we’re incredibly excited to be able to realize thanks to the Sony Pub Fund program, and we think it’s a game that you’ll really lose yourself in if you’re a fan of puzzles, adventures, cool art, and chill music. We’re also super honoured to be part of the Double Fine Presents label, and to have the good folks at DF helping us with production support and design feedback. Double Fine’s history of strong art direction and whimsical worlds has been hugely influential for all of us here at KO-OP, and we’re working hard to bring that style and energy to GNOG.

GNOGGNOG

We’re a four-person team based out of Montreal and we started work on GNOG just over a year ago. There was, of course, a lot of experimentation before we found the perfect formula — the game actually started as a 2D platformer (Don’t they all…)! Once we decided to work in 3D and focus on bringing the monster heads to life, though, we knew we were on to something special and intriguing.

We’re going to dig into the meat of the game design and the art direction in future blog posts but if you have any questions about GNOG we’d love to hear them!

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls Arrives September 1st

364. That’s how many days between Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’s launch and September 1st, the day you’ll finally be able to get your hands on Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls in North America — exclusively for the PlayStation Vita.

If you played the first two Danganronpa games, then I’m sure you’ve been waiting with bated breath for the third entry in the series. And if you’re one of those poor souls who never played a Danganronpa game, well then… it just might be time to join dis bear! Still not excited? I think our new trailer will scare you straight.

The first two Danganronpa games had a slower pace. You weren’t running away from robotic bears. You were combing through rooms for clues, deciphering suspects’ words for inaccuracies, and shooting out Truth Bullets to pinpoint murderers. This new episode in the lauded Danganronpa series brings its deep and twisted storytelling to a new genre.

Unafraid of Action

This time, you’re playing as Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa as they try desperately to escape a city filled with despair. Komaru has been equipped with a megaphone — a hacking gun — that generates Truth Bullets which you’ll use to defeat Monokumas and manipulate puzzles while racing through the streets searching for answers.

The situations you find yourself in are varied and intense. Luckily you’ll have a whole host of Truth Bullets at your disposal as you make your way through the terror that fills Towa City. You may find yourself caught in an alley with no escape only to make use of Dance to create a rockin’ (Scary?) dance party. Of course, sometimes you may find it best to create some chaos by chaining together targets with the electric power of Paralyze, and then lighting them aflame with Burn.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair GirlsDanganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls

And then there’s Toko. Armed with her own madness, the way she clears a path can be a touch… crazy. Using a stun gun, she can force herself to switch personalities and become Genocide Jack. I don’t know about you, but a nigh-invincible mad woman wielding scissors that can tear robotic bears to bits scares the bear-jeezus out of me.

Scarily Engaging

A lot of shooters have a tendency to overlook the story, or make it almost impossible to really become invested in the characters as you race about shooting everything in sight. Danganronpa Another Episode has changed up the pacing enough that both the story and the characters really stand out.

Between a mix of puzzles, battling Monokumas, and expertly written exposition sequences, it’s actually hard to not become lost in the struggle between hope and despair. Like the first two games, I’ve written off seemingly wonky characters at first blush, only to find myself rooting for them later, or hating them intensely thanks to how well they’re written. Characters are likable and real — if sometimes completely off their rockers.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls

You’ll be able to join the despair that is Danganronpa Another Episode on September 1st when it hits retail and PlayStation Stores. Until then, you can join NIS America on Twitch on Tuesday, June 23rd for a first look at the game.

Philosophical Puzzler Pneuma: Breath of Life Coming to PS4 on 7/7

Today is an exciting day for us at Deco Digital, an independent games studio based in Derby, United Kingdom, as we can finally announce the news we’ve been wanting to share with PlayStation gamers for months. Our first game, Pneuma: Breath of Life, is coming to PS4 on July 7th.

For those not in the know, Pneuma: Breath of Life is a first-person puzzler that puts gamer’s minds to the test in a visually stunning world using the combined power of PS4 and Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. Pneuma pushes players to think outside the box and explore beyond what they know as reality through the eyes of a god.

Gamers who solve the mysteries of Pneuma’s world will progress through a narrated story of self-discovery, exploring the fundamental nature of being. To give you an idea of how this works we’ve released a brand new gameplay trailer to help you wrap your head around the plethora of mind bending puzzles you’ll encounter in the game.

At Deco Digital, we’ve always wanted to create games that challenge player’s expectations and perceptions of videogames as a medium. One of the design challenges when creating Pneuma was developing puzzles around our completely unique observation mechanic which allows you to lift bridges, rotate platforms, and move entire buildings. All with the combined power of your sight & mind.

For example, certain puzzles requires you to traverse your way across a room with no obvious way of getting to the other side. It’s your job to manipulate the objects with the world using the power of your vision to make the environment bend to your will. Only then can you progress in Pneuma’s story of self-discovery.

Pneuma: Breath of Life

The story in Pneuma is one that can only be experienced through the interactive medium of video games. We don’t want to spoil the ending, but it’s a twist which we feel can’t be recreated through film or within a book. Video games are unique because if their interactive nature and we aimed to take full advantage of that when developing Pneuma: Breath of Life.

Writing from the perspective of a god was an interesting challenge for our designer. Pneuma tumbles through chains of thought that have preoccupied philosophers for centuries. We give you time to ponder questions about life and your own existence between presenting you with complex environmental challenges. You’re required to use perception, observation, and lateral thinking skills to succeed.

In Pneuma: Breath of Life, we were able to harness the power of PS4 and create visually stunning worlds. One of our favorite moments is seeing player’s reactions to the beginning of the game where the world creates itself around the player. The world floods with color, detailed reflections, and lighting that can only be achieved with the power of next gen. For our four-man art team, the creation these relaxing and immersive environments is something we can’t wait to share with PlayStation players.

Pneuma: Breath of Life

We hope this post has given you a clear idea of what to expect when Pneuma: Breath of Life launches on July 7th. We can’t wait to see how you guys react to the combination of Pneuma’s unique gameplay, story, and visuals. We’re especially excited to hear your philosophical thoughts you take away from the experience — this really is a thinker’s game. Until then, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

The Witcher 3! The universally loved open world adventure from CD Projekt RED is garnering massive praise from players and critics everywhere, earning it the prestigious number one spot on our PlayStation Store PS4 top sellers chart.

Enough folks nabbed Mass Effect Trilogy when it was on sale (can’t argue with that $4.80 price tag) to send it rocketing to the top of the PS3 chart, and we saw the same thing happen wih Freedom Wars on PS Vita.

Destiny’s House of Wolves handily topped the PS4 / PS3 add-on charts, and the surprise release of PS Classic The Misadventures of Tron Bonne debuted at #1 on its respective chart, as well.

What do you think will take the top spots this month?

Action Henk Butt-slides to PS4, PS3, PS Vita

Hey everyone! Roel Ezendam from RageSquid here, and I’m honored to announce that Action Henk will be coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita!

Action Henk is a game about an action figure trying to relive his heroic past. Henk used to be fastest of them all back in the 80’s and 90’s, but nowadays there’s not much left of his former glory. He gets challenged by his rival Dr. Kentony, and he’s out to prove that he still has what it takes to be the fastest!

The goal is to use physics and momentum to race through levels as fast as possible. These short levels require you to master all the subtle tricks that the physics-based platforming has to offer, including the famous butt-slide.

RageSquid is a young game development studio from The Netherlands, and Action Henk is our debut title. This means it’s also the first time we will ever be launching a game on console, which is super exciting for us! The game is heavily inspired by our childhoods, and it’s set in a colorful world full of toys and nostalgia.

So far, the reception for Action Henk has been amazing. We felt like the game could work very well on consoles, and we’ve teamed up with Curve Digital to make this happen.

We can’t wait to sit down and play some Action Henk on PlayStation, and we hope you are just as excited!

I am Bread Flopping Its Way to PS4

Hi, I’m Luke Williams, the guy whose twisted and wonderful mind brought you I am Bread, the prequel to Surgeon Simulator. The team at Bossa are really excited to be bringing the game to PS4.

You may wonder how we got here. Well, wonder no more!

Around the time we were finishing up Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition for PS4, I had a completely reasonable thought; “If bread could move, how would it do it, and what could it possibly want to achieve?”

I Am Bread on PS4

The more I thought about it, the more I saw a potential for quite a unique premise for a game, as well as a few design challenges! Like Surgeon Simulator, I wanted a clear goal for players to understand; a certain level of skill to be required, something the player could feel themselves getting better at every time they failed; and all in a more sandbox setting, letting the player experiment with everything in the world.

I always like to try and fulfill player expectations in a game by surrounding a lot of it in general world knowledge. This lets me focus on trying to meet what a player is expecting when playing a game rather than trying to teach them what to expect. When I say “Perform a Heart Transplant” a lot of people get the general idea of replacing a heart in someone’s body.

In I am Bread, your goal is to become toast. That’s it. This is where the general world knowledge stuff comes in — as a player I assume you generally know what is required to turn bread into toast, which is a toaster, or more simple than that; heat. So your goal in each level is to seek out or create a heat source by any means necessary in order to toast yourself. All this while trying to maintain some sort of edibility, because no one likes bread covered in dust/mud/fish bones/ants.

I Am Bread on PS4I Am Bread on PS4

Your adventure sees you go from holding yourself under an iron; to breaking a car window with a brick in order to turn on the engine. Oh yeah: the bread can grab onto things…

This lead us to quite a big challenge. How on earth are you going to move a slice of bread around and also create a fun, unique, and satisfying control scheme that the player could plausibly become skilled at?

We went through a lot of iterations but eventually settled on letting the bread have the ability to grab any surface or object with one of its four corners. This is done by holding the triggers on DualShock 4. You can hold down any combination of the triggers and then by using the right control stick you are able to flip the bread around those points. You can pretty much make up your own methods of traversing and climbing, and we’ve seen a whole host of unique ways to move around the world of I am Bread.

Finally, even after the grand adventure of becoming toast is over, we took the opportunity to create the bread game you’ve always wanted.

I Am Bread on PS4

You’ll find we’ve added a whole host of game modes that see you taking control of a new type of bread, each with their own variation of the controls and completely new goals and challenges. Become a baguette as you smash your way around the various levels, trying to cause as much destruction as possible; or become a bagel, and roll your way around a series of race courses in record time.

To top it all off, you’ll find a whole host of challenging Trophies to try and earn with all your bready companions. So I hope you’re ready to face the trials and tribulations that come with trying to be bread!

If you have any questions about the design process or anything I’ve mentioned, please ask away! You may also be impressed by my complete lack of bread puns, that took a lot of effort.

Welcome back to PlayStation Underground, our online show about video games! Today, we go underground with Destiny: House of Wolves, the latest expansion to Bungie’s sweeping, sci-fi opus. Specifically, we gear up and enter the brutal Prison of Elders, a wave-based arena mode that pits Guardians against voracious enemies in exchange for legendary rewards.

My colleague and friend Justin brings his own, hand-selected team into the Prison of Elders for our entertainment. Will this stoic team of three endure the opposition and emerge victorious, showered with glittering treasures? Or will their shoulders tremble beneath the weight of crushing defeat? Spoilers: it’s the latter.

Let me know what you think in the comments, and remember that we’ll be back soon with more Underground in the weeks to come. Enjoy the show.

Super Meat Boy Coming to PS4, PS Vita (Yes, Really!)

Once upon a time, two friends named Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen got together to make a game. They called that game “Super Meat Boy”. They were forced to form a company by “the Man” and that company was given the name “Team Meat”, they did not pick this name, it was on some promotional information for a press event they attended and being the savvy businessmen they are they took a note from Warren “G” Buffett and rolled with it. For 18 months they both slaved away creating the greatest platformer they possibly could. The process was hard and very well documented in Indie Game: The Movie. Neither Tommy nor Edmund expected Super Meat Boy to be a huge success. Much to their surprise, everyone wanted the game, including some very disappointed PlayStation fans.

Super Meat Boy on PS4 & PS Vita

When Super Meat Boy was launched, Team Meat wasn’t allowed to bring it to PS3 for very complicated reasons. They hated that they had to alienate the loyal PlayStation fans who desperately wanted the game but couldn’t have it. They felt their pain as PlayStation fans had to suffer for years without the greatest platformer ever made by two guys named Tommy and Edmund. Team Meat was very sad about this, but what could they do? Their hands were tied.

Earlier this year, Team Meat got an unexpected gift. The gods smiled upon them and opened up a teeny tiny sliver of a path that could eventually lead them to re-release Super Meat Boy. Even though the path would be difficult they knew they owed it to their fans to at least try.

Fast forward to today. We walked that arduous path and with a lot of hard work, a little convincing, and huge scoops of luck we are now here today with huge smiles on our faces to say:

SUPER MEAT BOY IS COMING TO PS4 AND PLAYSTATION VITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super Meat Boy on PS4 & PS Vita

Crazy right?! We actually never ever EVER thought this day would come and it makes us both so happy that it’s finally here! We know this has been a long time coming but better late than never. Expect to be playing Super Meat Boy on your PS4 and PS Vita later this year.

Oh…and we almost forgot: It’s going to be free on Playstation Plus at launch. That’s our way of saying “Thank you for waiting patiently” to all those PlayStation fans that reached out to us over the years only to get back a “we can’t do it, sorry” response. We love you guys and girls and we’re so happy that you can finally play Super Meat Boy on your system of choice!

Here’s a trailer for your viewing pleasure, spread the word!

Thumper Bringing Rhythm Violence to PS4

This is Marc and Brian from Drool. For the past few years, we’ve been making Thumper, our rhythm violence game. Today, we’re happy to announce Thumper will make its console debut on PS4 in 2016.

Thumper strips rhythm gaming down to its core. With one analog stick and one button, you control a space beetle as you hurtle through treacherous psychedelic worlds. By keeping the gameplay pure and simple, we combine classic rhythm-action with speed and satisfying physicality. The basic move set of thumping, sliding, and turning is easy to learn. But as you careen onward, you’ll need to master new moves and survive adrenalizing boss encounters. To reach synesthetic bliss, you must go through rhythm hell. And nothing can prepare you for the ultimate confrontation with an insane giant head from the future: CRAKHED.

We both have over ten years of experience making rhythm games. With Thumper, we want to bring something unique to the genre. Brian is the bassist for the noise-rock band Lightning Bolt and he’s creating Thumper’s original soundtrack. The music varies from thunderous drumbeats to dark synth blasts to eerie cosmic drones. Using our custom engine, we handcraft the gameplay and audio together. Every sound, collision, and visual effect is coherent and interwoven for maximum impact. There’s no blood or gore in Thumper, but you will feel the violence.

ThumperThumper

ThumperThumper

After years of development, we are excited to unleash Thumper on the PS4. Rhythm games have always had the power to transport players into realms of euphoria and delight. We hope Thumper takes you to some new places. You might feel unsettled, lost, even scared. Just remember what you must do: KILL CRAKHED!
